Hi! My name's Vangelis and I was born in Crete, Greece, where my favourite season was always summer. Every evening, our small garden would fill with the scent of night-bloom jasmine. It wasn’t much, a few chairs, a plastic table but it was a place where people came together. My uncles would drop by unannounced; friends, neighbours, strangers would sit, eat, laugh, argue, and share stories and silence.
That garden was my first lesson in connection, a simple, living space that brought people closer and helped us catch our breath from the noise of life.
Every evening, people would gather. Not because they were invited. Not because there was an event. But because the garden existed — a shared space where showing up meant you belonged.
They shared food and told stories. They argued about politics and taught the children old songs. Conversations were always loud. And on celebrations, someone was always dancing.
What struck me wasn't the dancing itself. It was how natural it felt. No one was performing. No one was "good" or "bad." Movement was just another language they used to connect.
Years later, at 21, I stumbled upon Argentine tango. It became my new garden. Through tango I grew emotionally, mentally, spiritually. I watched others transform too:
learning to trust, to listen, to embrace, to face themselves.
Tango revealed that growth and connection are never solitary acts, they happen between us.
When life brought me to Munich, I began to recreate that feeling. My living room became a small garden again filled with plants, music, friends, laughter, and movement.
Around a wooden table this time, we shared food, stories, and tango. Slowly, a community grew not just of dancers, but of people who showed up for one another.
Tango Garden is born from this journey, a place to grow on and off the dance floor. A space to connect deeply, to nurture yourself and others, to rediscover the joy of being present. Like every garden, it takes time, care, and warmth but what blossoms is unforgettable.
At Tango Garden, we believe that growth happens through connection - between people, bodies, and hearts.
❝We dance not just to move, but to belong.❞
To find that rare space where we can breathe, feel, and grow together.
I am glad that you came and I am looking forward meeting you in real life!
Hugs, Vangelis
