Still wandering?

Every dancer starts somewhere different. If you're not sure where you fit, we're happy to guide you personally.

If You're Unsure, You're Exactly Where You Should Be

Almost everyone who joins the garden starts with the same thoughts:

  • "I have no rhythm."
  • "I don't know anyone."
  • "I'm not a dancer."
  • "What if I feel awkward?"

That's not a problem.
That's the starting point.

Is This For You?

This Space Is For You If

  • βœ“ You're a young professional, student, or creative who misses real human connection
  • βœ“ You're comfortable in English, or want a space where language isn't a barrier
  • βœ“ You're curious about dance, but more curious about people
  • βœ“ You want to meet others without small talk, apps, or performance pressure
  • βœ“ You believe connection can be learned β€” and practiced

Here, we speak English first. But more importantly, we share a deeper language β€” touch, presence, and attention.

It may not be for you if you're looking for a drop-in workout with no community. And that's okay.

Common Questions

Everything You're Wondering

No question is too small. Here are the ones we hear most.

Not at all. Every session is designed for absolute beginners. We start from scratch β€” how to stand, how to be present, how to listen through touch. No prior dance experience is needed or expected.

No. Most people come alone. We rotate partners during class so everyone gets to dance with different people. In fact, coming solo often makes it easier to connect with the community.

Comfortable clothes you can move in. For shoes, we recommend either a clean pair of cozy socks, or a second pair of indoor shoes. Avoid thick rubber soles β€” they grip the floor and make turning difficult. We'll guide you on proper tango shoes once you decide to invest more.

Yes. All teaching is in English. Under request, we can also offer German, Russian and Greek. The deeper language of tango β€” presence, touch, listening β€” transcends words entirely.

Enter the Garden is a one-time introductory event β€” perfect if you want to get a feel for the space with zero commitment.

Regular Classes are a full course that takes you from zero to dancing. This is the most effective path if you want to actually learn tango.

Weekly Practicas are open practice sessions β€” great once you've had some classes and want to apply what you've learned in a relaxed, social setting.

No worries. Students on the multi-week course pass can cover any missed class by attending our Garden Practica during the pass' eligibility cycle, at no extra cost. Life happens β€” we've built that flexibility in.

Probably a little β€” that's normal. Most people feel that way in the first 20 minutes. Then something shifts. Tango is one of the few spaces where being present and quiet is actually an advantage. You don't need to perform or entertain. You just need to show up.

Our main studio is located at ThΓΌrmchenswall 21, 50668 Cologne (Yoga Drop Studio), just a 3-minute walk from Ebertplatz. It’s a beautiful, quiet space tucked away from the main street. If you're having trouble finding the entrance, just message us on WhatsApp.
